Quoted after a short scoping conversation. The number does not move once agreed unless the scope does, and I will tell you before it does. Invoiced on the first business day of the month, due in fifteen days, thirty days' notice either way. Scheduled meetings missed or cancelled inside 24 hours are billed at $150 — the initial consultation is free and exempt. Full terms of engagement.
Project and hourly work
Not everything belongs on a retainer. Some things are a defined piece of work with an end.

What the price is actually against
A competent full-time controller in this market costs well into six figures once you add benefits and payroll taxes, and a group with three locations rarely has enough work to fill the seat. The comparison that matters is not "bookkeeper versus me" — it is "fractional controller versus a hire you are not ready for, or versus nobody doing it at all."
And the honest version: if you are a single location on one entity with books that are already current, you do not need me — a good bookkeeper and your CPA will serve you better and cost less, and I would rather say that now than bill you for a year before you work it out. The moment there is a second entity, an intercompany balance, or a close nobody trusts, that stops being true.
